In this interview, Ola Nilsson, Service Line Manager, shares his journey at Engage and offers a glimpse into what makes our company unique. From his role in delivering high-quality services to his thoughts on employee development and company culture, Ola gives an insider’s view of what being part of the Engage team is like.
Thanks for joining me today, Ola. Can you tell me about your role as Service Line Manager at Engage Group?
Of course! As a Service Line Manager, I’m responsible for ensuring that our services are delivered with high quality and meet our clients’ expectations. Together with my four regional managers, we ensure we have the right team for each project, meet our obligations to our clients, and stick to deadlines.
Another key part of my role is driving competence development and fostering a positive work environment for our team. At Engage, we’re divided into several Service Lines, and I’m responsible for two of them: Finance & Supply Chain and Customer Engagement (CE).
That sounds like an important role. What’s the best part of your job?
I enjoy the variety in my role the most. It combines delivery, recruitment, and sales while allowing me to collaborate closely with all the great colleagues here at Engage Group. No two days are alike, and new, exciting opportunities are constantly arising with our clients. It’s both challenging and highly rewarding.
What initially attracted you to join Engage Group?
Ola: I was genuinely impressed by Engage Group’s culture and values. We strongly emphasize deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and delivering exceptional client satisfaction, which is very important to me. For example, we have a specialist team that provides strategic advisory services, helping our clients make informed decisions from both technical and financial perspectives. This ensures they maximize the value of their project budgets. Additionally, Engage is on an exciting growth journey, which gives me great opportunities for both personal and professional development.
What would you say is the biggest challenge in your role?
The biggest challenge right now is that we’ve established a strong reputation among companies implementing or planning to implement Dynamics 365. As a result, we have a big interest in our services from new clients, which means we need to grow our team. There’s a market shortage of senior Dynamics 365 consultants, but we’re seeing that many professionals considering a career change are drawn to us because of our entrepreneurial culture, the freedom we offer, and the opportunities for competence development. As a bonus, they also get to work alongside some of the most skilled consultants in the field.
Why should a consultant consider joining Engage Group?
There are many reasons, but to mention a few, I often hear from those I speak with that at other Dynamics 365 partners, consultants are frequently moved between projects, which can leave them feeling like they don’t have enough time to deliver their best work or build deep relationships with clients. At Engage, our consultants typically work on one client/project at a time alongside other senior colleagues. This creates a tight-knit and collaborative team dynamic, which is evident in the high quality of our work and the positive feedback we receive from both clients and employees.
We specialize in global rollouts, so all our team members are highly experienced and have several years of expertise in implementing Dynamics 365. Another primary reason is our focus on competence development. Every year, we run mentoring programs where, for example, application consultants can grow into solution architect roles.
Is there anything else you would say that stands out about Engage Group?
We’re a stable company with strong growth and solid financials. We reinvest in our employees by enhancing their skills and organizing fun activities together. Each year, we host a major conference, often abroad, to celebrate our successes and strengthen our bonds even further. Additionally, plenty of events are happening at our offices throughout the year, such as Oktoberfests, chocolate and wine tastings, and classic after-works. We even have a dedicated “Mood Manager” at every office, who ensures everyone truly enjoys working at Engage.
