We are sharing key takeaways from our Senior Solution Architect, Oscar Zeidler, and CTO, Tobias Lång, who were on-site at Dynamics Minds 2026.

The biggest Dynamics event of the year has come to an end, and Engage Group had the privilege of being an attendee. Dynamics Minds continues to strengthen its position as an important meeting place for the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform community, where Agentic AI set clearly sat the tone for the event.

 
AI is no longer optional

Agents, MCP, and automation are no longer emerging trends, they are the present reality.

Across industries, the message from peers at Dynamics Minds was consistent: AI is not going anywhere, and those who delay adoption risk falling behind. The combination of AI agents and automation is already reshaping workflows, productivity, and decision-making. Navigating the Orchestration Layer

Understanding the different architectural layers is essential to grasping Microsoft’s vision and roadmap for agentic business applications.
Between the foundation (headless business services) and the front-end user experience (Copilot UX) lies the orchestration layer. Most innovation and effort are currently happening in this domain, with LLMs capable of reasoning over large datasets, Model Context Protocols connecting LLMs with business logic, and contextual capabilities through WorkIQ, skills, and more.

New services such as Copilot Cowork aim to “connect the dots” for users, prioritizing individual productivity and lowering the barrier to entry for both customers and partners.

 
Time-to-Market Becomes Critical

The concept of ‘time-to-market’ has long existed, but it has taken on new urgency.
Microsoft’s vision is clear:

• Enable customers to realize business value earlier
• Use AI agents to automate repetitive implementation tasks
• Accelerate the path to go-live.

Azure consumption and Copilot credits are expected to increase exponentially, benefiting Microsoft as well. The FastTrack team is working on a set of agents with this sole purpose, grounded in the Success by Design framework, and we saw several exciting announcements related to this during the Dynamics Minds.

The result is a win-win! Faster, agent-powered implementations will redefine how projects are delivered. Customers will gain value more quickly, while Microsoft strengthens its ecosystem and consumption model.

The Rise of the “Agent Boss”

A term borrowed from the Microsoft Frontier Firm report, the “Agent Boss” is emerging, a concept in which professionals shift from performing tasks themselves to managing and directing AI agents. Whether you are a junior consultant, a power user, or a senior architect, upskilling is no longer optional, it is essential.

However, what struck me most was not what was presented at Dynamics Minds, but rather what was not mentioned. Not a single session I attended showcased an agentic use case deployed to production that addressed a mission-critical, enterprise-grade scenario targeting a team or business function. Instead, most use cases focused on personal productivity gains or non-functional scenarios such as data migration, testing, and documentation.

The transformation is inevitable, but large-scale enterprise adoption is still in its early stages. In a couple of months, I expect this will look very different, says Tobias Lång.

Dynamics Minds 2026 made one thing certain: the transition to agentic business applications is well underway, and the coming year will likely bring even more rapid change.
